Independence village of ames is amazing! The team they have there are awesome to work and collaborate with. They give great care to our patients and are always very helpful when I have questions and concerns. Staff is always so welcoming with big smiles.

The staff of Independence Village in Ames is such a wonderful team to work with. As a hospice nurse, I know that the caregivers and staff will provide great care to our shared patients. They have caring staff, who are always welcoming, helpful, and communicate patient needs.

Independence Village Ames and our Nurse Nina, gave our family peace of mind when we needed it most. The compassion, kindness, and genuine care shown every day made all the difference—we are incredibly grateful.

We visit Independence Village of Ames regularly with our kids, and every time we walk into this community, it feels like a warm, welcoming home. It’s full of life and energy, with residents greeting you right at the door and making you feel like part of something special.The atmosphere is incredibly social and thoughtfully designed—everything from themed happy hours and life-size slot machine games to family dinners and holiday events—like Valentine’s dances, trick-or-treating, and even creative experiences like a 9-hole mini golf setup—feels elevated and intentional.What stands out most to me is the multi-generational connection. Watching our kids interact with residents—talking, laughing, and dancing together—is something you just don’t see often. It brings out so much joy on both sides and creates a true sense of community.The partnership with Iowa State adds even more energy, bringing in students, athletics, and opportunities that keep things vibrant and engaging. They have awesome outdoor spaces, with a large covered front porch, & outdoor courtyard with walking paths, mature trees, and garden areas! There are so many beautiful space to enjoy and spread out!It’s truly something special, with incredibly caring team members. I recommend them to anyone in Story County and the surrounding areas!

Caring staff in all areas from housekeeping to food to caregivers. It was hard to leave but our care needs exceeded what IV could provide. I would recommend to others.

Very expensive when we didn't require much care. My mom would not leave her apartment so didn't receive a lot of care. Just meds and meals. My dad cleaned and did her laundry at their home. The apartment was very large. I could live there??. The staff was very kind and caring! Very well trained to care for my mom who had not so nice behaviors.

What we like the most about Independence Village are the activities that are available, Friday afternoon happy hours, most employees are very kind, and some are really fun. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families.

This is a beautiful facility. Great staff and clinically sound! Very impressed by their caring approach as well as their aesthetics, and clinical oversight. I would highly recommend!

Dad has been very welcomed at Independence Village of Ames. He has so many people to talk to and always has something to do. He is enjoying that socialization . We also appreciate that he has his own new home where he could bring his own things. Having an apartment that is all his is a great transformation from his house. Thank you to all the staff that have been so friendly and welcoming.

Independence Village is a compassionate and caring home to all of its residents. The common areas are full of natural light and have a modern and clean feel. The staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. When you walk in, people seem genuinely happy to be there! I highly recommend Independence Village!

Food is good. Enjoying other residents. Everyone is friendly.

It's a very good place to be and I'm supremely happy. We enjoy the prayer group and movies and singing.
