The apartment is spacious, very clean, picked up trash daily, always people around to ask questions. Everyone willing to help and friendly at the dining room, [name removed] . Because of dialysis a meal was always ready when I returned at 2. Very nice!

I have lived at Independence Village almost 2 years. I have enjoyed the activities and meeting new people. The staff here is amazing.

All of the staff has been very helpful and accommodating for all requests. That really is a strong suit for the facility. For all the places that were looked at, it was average for the larger units. A two bedroom was chosen for a bit more room. Hot water is warm at best, making showers very quick

My husband and I visited three independent living facilities in Brighton before choosing IVB, and have been 6 years. We are contented here and feel very much of home. It is a comfortable place to live in all seasons, and is also community located for business and pleasure. Most importantly the director is an exceptional individual who understands the needs of the building the needs of the resident and the qualities to look for in the hiring of staff members.

I moved here 2 1/2 years ago after I suffered a stroke. I could no longer live in my condo due to stairs. I felt very welcomed by staff as an residents. I use to say if you can't be home it's a great place to be. Now I say this is my home.

Independence village on scale from 1-5+ is better than 5. It is the best senior living place, the experience has been very positive. Food is good breakfast, lunch and dinner. Activities are available every day.

This was a great venue for a craft show. Absolutely beautiful inside and easy to get to. Everyone working was friendly and hospitable. And the atmosphere of the event was upbeat and lively. I would come back in a heartbeat.

In placing my friend at Independence Village in Brighton, we found this a beautiful accomodating, positive, and active community. The staff has been fantastic with all our concerns. I highly recommend checking out this housing option for friends and family members.

The staff and employees are all very nice and friendly people. There is a lot going on and things to do if you would like. The other people living here are lots of fun and go out of their way to make you feel Welcome. I have been here just a few weeks and I have no complaints . The food is good, in fact too good. I have a few pounds that have sneaked up on me.

I visited recently and was really impressed. The atrium is such a cool space. The leadership team is very strong, and overall, there's a great culture throughout!

We toured about 10 different places to find the best fit for mom. One key factor was activities she found of interest which would involve her in community and not stuck in her room. While some of the others were closer, newer and a bit less costly, they didn’t have the personality that IVB has as soon as you enter the building. After touring the building and seeing the options for different care from independent to Enhanced ( sounds much better then Assisted) we chose the Enhanced side for mom. She gets med reminders and personal help etc. but still has access to the whole building, all activities and amenities it offers including a choice of dining rooms. She is on the 3 meal plan with breakfast in her room, goes to the bistro for lunch and for dinner the main dining room. Yes, this has been a tough transition but the entire staff has welcomed her, made her feel at home and has treated her with respect , dignity and a genuine sense of caring. She is very happy with her choice.

We were finally able to convince our Mother to move from her home of 60 years on the west side of Michigan to a place closer to family. At almost 92 her health was declining rapidly & she would be entering hospice care. We read about Independence Village online & reached out to them about transferring our mom from the west side Storypoint facility. The staff person was exceptionally available to us during the entire transition process & so considerate in answering our many questions & smoothing mom’s arrival. Her apartment was freshly painted & clean, prepared just for her. It was truly the staff that most impressed us. They were so kind & gentle & respectful to her no matter her demeanor, bringing her food or puzzles or laundry, assisting her, cleaning, or just plain checking in. We felt she was so safe & cared for in these final 2 months of her life, & we are deeply grateful for everyone in this facility.
