My dad is adjusting well and the staff has been very supportive of his needs. It was tough on him after being independent for his whole life. StoryPoint Canton has worked well to encourage and support him and his needs.
What we like the most about the community is that the staff listen. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.
We've moved my parents to StoryPoint Canton. It's been good. Setting it up was good. They are super friendly. There were a couple of disconnects like getting the TV set up, silly little things like that, but for the most part, we've been really happy. It's only been a little bit, but they've been very attentive and very nice. Everybody there has been super to work with. Interaction with the staff has been excellent. Their rooms are really nice. They have a couple of different options. My parents are in a one-bedroom with a little living area and an outside patio. The bathroom is really nice. It's clean and brand new. It's a one-story community. It is not huge, and it's really nice. They have two-bedroom floor plans. They have rooms that have a door wall with a courtyard view, which is what my parents have, and then they have inside rooms that don't have that view. They have a couple of different layouts for that. They also have a studio, which is a one-room type thing, and we didn't look at one of those. They have activities that go out of the community, so they'll have meals at a restaurant or they'll go to a park or different things like that. They have movie nights within the community. They have bingo, games, puzzles, and things like that. They have a beauty salon. Based on what I'm paying and based on what my parents would have needed had they stayed in their home, I'd rate the value for the money five stars.
It is a brand new community. Everything is very nice. My mom moved in and felt like she was in a really nice place. Her vision of assisted living was not good and because of the newness of it and the grand entrance, that really helped. It feels more like a resort rather than an assisted living community. I would recommend StoryPoint Canton.
The community is very well appointed. My mom just can't say enough on how beautiful it is. She loves all the staff. My wife's and I have had very good experiences with all the staff. They have lots of activities that the memory care folks can partake of also.
The first day I walked into this senior living community, I felt the warm embrace of family.
