Transitioning a loved one into care is HARD, especially with dementia. The staff here basically held my hand (and heart) through the entire move-in process. My Dad has been her a few months now, and this place is amazing. The staff all know him, they remember our family, they REALLY care. The memory care staff, especially, are here doing God's work. They're so patient and intuitive with the residents. I highly recommend this facility!!!!

Moving my mother has been one of the most stressful things I have ever experienced however the people At Independence Village South Fisher have been amazing. They are compassionate. The residents have been welcoming. The staff have helped in multiple ways and when I make a mistake, they don’t get frustrated with me or angry they just helped me fix it. Mom has only been here for about a week, but so far they have been amazing. The residents and the staff are so welcoming and kind to us both.

Incredibly clean facility. Staff is very transparent and builds relationships with the residents. I am informed of any changes to medications or anything the staff feels is relevant. Move in process is great. Took some time for my mother to get adjusted, but she is now settled in and loves the nurses and staff.

My mother has been here for about 1 1/2 years. From the beginning everyone has been very friendly and helpful. She started out in assisted living. I did pay close attention when we were exploring here to be sure that they had a memory care unit in case it was needed. We had been at a place previously that stated they had a memory care unit, but it wasn’t exactly what they had told us.Her time in assisted living was very nice. The accommodations are wonderful and the numerous various activities available made my mom very comfortable and happy. My mom especially enjoys Bingo and craft days! They even have excursions, although my mom was not one to want to go on any, it certainly seems as if the residents that go have a great time. They host numerous special events as well, which are always very nice and a lot of fun. Everyone from the nursing staff to the house cleaning staff to the kitchen to the front desk to the office, have all gone above and beyond to make my mom comfortable. As the year progressed, they worked closely with us when she started showing signs of needing to transition to memory care. Upon making that transition, both the staff from assisted living and memory care worked together to make sure that she felt safe and comfortable. In turn, we feel that she is safe and comfortable which is exactly what we were looking for. It truly feels like “home” and for that my family is very thankful!

Touring Independence Villages was a great experience. We were not rushed and Jameso took the time to give us a second tour at another location that was closer to family. While both facilites were clean and beautiful, we were particularly impressed with the genuine friendliness of each employee we met. They weren't rushed, and seemed very happy to be there. That tells me that they are well treated, hopefully we'll paid and respected for the work they do. This is probably the mist important factor in my opinion. Residents will be treated well if the staff is treated well. Im sold.

Friendly community. Good food. Staffing Good most of the time. My husband was only there for respite care 2 weeks so probably takes more time to get acclimated

Our overall experience with Independence Village Fishers South more than met our expectations. Our mom was very well taken care of and if we had to it over they would be our first choice. From the moment we met with the staff to inquire about the facility to the very end of mom's passing, was nothing short of comforting.

I looked at a number of options for an assisted living facility for my dad and am very happy we chose Independence Village Fishers South. I could tell there was just something different about their facility the first time I visited. All the places I looked were nice but there was just a different "family" feeling at Independence Village. They worked with us through the process of getting everything figured out and made things very easy to get my dad setup comfortably. The staff is great and they truly do care about their residents. I would highly suggest you check them out when looking for a spot for your loved one.

Every time we have visited this center we have been impressed. The entire community feels like one big family. The facility is always clean, and the staff is always offering a smile and assistance and truly make you feel welcome. They have activities planned throughout the week and there is always a cheery and bright feeling among the staff and residents.

My dad had dementia and was in memory care. The staff was very caring and professional. The facility is lovely and well maintained. My only complaint is that when he was agitated and grabbed the wrist of another resident, our family was informed that he had to be sent off-site for a psychiatric evaluation. And while waiting to be sent to that facility, the family had to provide 24/7 supervision of my dad. As we did not have family available to do this, we had to hire an outside agency at an expense of about [amount removed] a week. I don't understand why this memory care unit, for which my Dad paid a premium over regular assisted living, would not do that evaluation on site and provide whatever supervision my dad needed. He was traumatized by his stay at the psychiatric facility and declined quickly upon his return to memory care. He died within a few weeks. I know his death was coming anyway but I wish his final days had not been so awful.

We feel the staff at Independence Village really cares about our dad. Additionally, they work very well with hospice. We are very glad we chose Independence Village.

Great management group. Many activities for the residents. They have a great group of folks that welcome new residents and help integrate them into normal activities like meals, Happy Hour, craft parties, etc.
