At Glen Abbey
For 40 years, our communities have been considered the best in senior living by residents, families and community members alike.
My mom has been a resident at Glen Abbey for about three years now. The staff and caregivers are very responsive to my mom’s needs, her wants and opinions. She has never had an aid or caregiver that has not treated her with respect and dignity. They care about her physical, emotional and mental health and provide growth opportunities for each of these areas. This is especially true in regards to the type of activities that are available to the residents. Each resident has their own clean and comfortable apartment, having the feel of an apartment with ample space and a feel of home and hominess.Mom has thrived at Glen Abby we believe at least in part because of the well-balanced diet provided and the comradery that goes along with every meal in the dining area. She has made some real friends that she enjoys getting together with either in the dining area or outside in the gazebo. Knowing that mom is happy and well cared for gives our family peace of mind.
Glen Abbey is a beautiful facility many different style apartments/rooms to choose from. My mom's room faces the woods and she always has a variety of birds at her feeder. She often gets deer at her feeder as well. There are also spacious rooms that face the enclosed courtyard. The residents love to sit outside under the gazebo during the warm months. There are many activities during the day such as bingo, bowling, and crafts, as well as musical entertainment. The staff is very caring and friendly. My family feels very blessed to have the peace of mind knowing that our mom is well cared for and treated so well by the amazing staff! I would highly recommend Glen Abbey to anyone looking for a wonderful place for their love one to live!
“My brother and I came to visit my mom on Saturday 5/15/21 and we let Ayanna, one of the caregivers, know that we would be back about 6pm to pick her up and take her to my niece's wedding reception and would be bringing her back about 9pm that night. She was friendly and accommodating, assuring us that that would not be a problem, and that she would let Allie, the caregiver that evening, know. I set out clothes to change her into on her bed, planning on getting there a bit early to get her changed into them. As Saturday traffic would have it, we were running a bit late and when we arrived and Ayanna let us into Memory Care, my mom was cleaned up, all dressed up with her hair curled, and waiting for us in her wheelchair. Allie had taken such great care to get her ready, all on her own. Later that night when we returned, a little later than planned since my mom was having such a great time and everyone wanted pictures with her, Ayanna cheerfully met us at the door and let us back into memory care. I wheeled my mom into her room and was getting her out of her wheelchair to get her ready for bed when Allie came in and said she would do that for her, which was amazing.Once again, I was reminded how extremely lucky we are to have her in a place where she is treated so well and loved like she was family. I am an ER nurse and see patients from all kinds of different facilities. I want to commend all the staff at Glen Abbey on the amazing care and concern they all have for the loved ones placed in their care. The atmosphere at this community is so much gentler and kinder than any other senior care community we have ever been in.
The first day I walked into this senior living community, I felt the warm embrace of family.
I wake up feeling like I’m at a resort on vacation.
I consider myself lucky and blessed to have ended up here. I love it here and found my lifelong friends. Anyone who lives here is the luckiest person in the world.
A service industry can buy printed and broadcast advertising; however, trust, reputation, and goodwill cannot be purchased, they must be earned. In my opinion, this community has richly earned and deserves recognition for those attributes which we value so highly.
The staff went above and beyond for my mom and were there for her at every turn and we are extremely grateful.
