Independence Village of Johnson City impresses from the first time you walk in the front door. The building itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, but the people you encounter will also give you reason to want to stay. Staff and residents alike are ready to tell you all the reasons they love working/living here. It’s clear that people here are happy and treat each other like family. I’m excited for my mom to become part of this community!

My parents moved into Independence Village of Johnson City four and a half years ago, in 2020. Living at Independence Village of Johnson City in their late 80s and early 90s has been a blessing for this season of their lives. My Mom passed away in 2022, and the support of friends and staff at Independence Village of Johnson City has been a key element of support to my Dad after losing a spouse after 67 years of marriage. The staff are always aware if a resident has not shown up for a meal and are quick to check on them to ensure their safety. The apartments are roomy with lots of sunlight and provide all the residents could need for this season of their lives. Every holiday is a party! Independence Village of Johnson City has a wonderful staff that curates a wide variety of events to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and really any excuse to bring the residents together for fun and fellowship. They decorate each event in a special and beautiful way. Meals are well organized and very nutritious and tasty while being served in a well-organized and lovely dining room, where residents also enjoy the opportunity to fellowship over a meal. Weekly housekeeping of each unit relieves each resident of the burden or stress of having to clean their space. I am so thankful my parents, and now being just my Dad, have been able to enjoy this season of their life at Independence Village of Johnson City. They have gained many new friends and can stay active with everything they need and without having to stress over keeping a home. I am so grateful for Independence Village of Johnson City!

My parents became residents about 2 months ago. As a child, to have to decide between helping your parent decide to leave their home and move to independent assisted living is a hard choice. However, from the time we walked into the front doors to view the facility to moving them in, the staff and residents have been loving, caring, supportive, and all-out amazing. In a most recent time of need, we were shown so much support and love from all, from assuring my parents were safe and happy to helping them and assisting in walking the dog to even assuring that we children were fed. As a daughter, to know that my parents are safe and happy and thriving in their senior years is amazing. If you are at a crossroads of having to make this decision, please consider Independence Village of Johnson City.

We are very lucky to have an independent living community in Johnson City like Independence Village of Johnson City. My mom moved here a few months ago and has been very happy with everything they provide. The facility is beautiful and always clean. I have gotten to know the staff, and they are all kind and caring to the residents and visitors alike. I always get a warm welcome from Ava, Amanda, and Emily in the office, and all of the concierge staff go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. There is a wide variety of activities for the residents to choose from, and my mom has really enjoyed making new friends and being involved in daily life at Independence Village of Johnson City. I know she is very happy that she chose to move to Independence Village of Johnson City!

My mother is currently a resident at Independence Village of Johnson City. Everything has been great for her at this community! The staff is great. The food is good. The cleanliness and friendliness are great, as well as the care services. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
