at Independence Village of Pella

This facility and staff are wonderful. Dad was a long-time resident in the Independent Living portion of the facility. He also had a garage in the basement for his vehicle. He greatly enjoyed the ability to come and go as he pleased. For many years, he went to "work" in his local shop six days a week. As he progressed in age, and his health declined, he was able to move to the Assisted Living portion of the facility. This was very handy for us to move him as we did not need to even leave the building. He was in Assisted Living for a little over 4 months before his passing. The care staff was very good with him, even getting him to actually socialize. The chef and kitchen staff prepares excellent meals. Being able to have on-site medical care was also nice when he got difficult to transport. [Names Removed] were very kind, supportive, and understanding during this whole process.

Our family found Independence Village during a very difficult time, and we couldn’t be more grateful.[Name Removed] was a complete God-send. She stepped in immediately, helped us secure a spot for our family member, and walked us through every step with constant communication and genuine care. Even after move-in, [Name Removed]continued to check in and make sure everything was going well—she truly went above and beyond.[Name Removed] has also been incredible. She is always available, communicates clearly, and brings such a calm, reassuring presence. She truly cares about both residents and their families, and it shows in everything she does.We were honestly scared going into this, but Independence Village exceeded every expectation. [Names Removed]—thank you will never be enough.

Independence Village is fantastic. They offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care living options in one building. The thing that sets them apart is the staff. The care team is outstanding because they genuinely care about all of their residents. They constantly go above and beyond to make sure the residents are safe and comfortable. My parents moved in about 6 months ago. Last month my mom said she has never lived anywhere where she felt this safe.

Visiting the Independence Village of Pella was such a lovely experience. They have the most friendly staff and great food options. They have so many engaging activities, the holiday specials they host were very heartfelt and wholesome. Highly recommend for your family member!

Independence village is definitely a village, they all seem like family, residents and staff. The care and the love they provide for the residents is the best. Not only the care they provide but also keeping the residents a part of the ‘real world’ . Creating activities/events that are going on outside their facilities. Providing day bus trips, creating a Macy Day parade, Mardi Gras activities, Super Bowl, any event outside their facility is also going on inside the facility for the residents. The staff gives their all!!

A few times the bathroom and shower needed cleaning. When cleaning staff was notified, they did take care of the problem quickly. It is pricey but fortunately, Mom could afford it. And I know Independence Villages was top notch compared to other places. Mom was at Independence Villages for about 11 months before passing. She thoroughly enjoyed it there and thrived! We, as a family, were extremely happy with this facility. The staff were very friendly, It was a bright, cheery place. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there. The food was very good, and she enjoyed several of the activities. My mom was a people person, and she really enjoyed making friends with the staff. She also enjoyed her tomato plants in the garden, the church services, hymn sing, Messy the Dog, and the other shows or classes. Between the friends she made at I.V. and her many outside visitors, she seemed to be very happy. We thank everyone involved for making her last year enjoyable.

Super kind staff and beautiful facility. very attentive staff that forms relationships with residents. being friendly is also unique and incredibly important to assisted care. The memory care unit is also a hard thing to come by without paying a fortune.

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Independence Living in Pella, Iowa and highly recommend it to anyone looking for supportive, friendly senior living. The community here truly feels like home — the staff are attentive, respectful, and go above and beyond to make sure residents feel safe, comfortable, and engaged.

Pella Iowa is a charming community. My Aunt and Uncle on my mom's side and my Aunt and Uncle on my dad's side have made their home there for several years...I have visited Pella for several years myself, along with the charm comes the nicest people you will ever meet in your lifetime. Having a luxury place for seniors to live in and the place having large rooms, many ademites has something for everyone...plus making new friends in a a positive, quiet environment helps with a lot. Like eating and even playing cars with friends..and keeping up with your socializing skills...

Lindsay Paxton , Executive Director, at the Independence Village in Pella Iowa is a great Leader. Very independent person who is loving ang caring. Her abilities, through her creativeness, and engaging with her clients and her staff, and familymembers an extremely well asset to all, enen the company. She also offers these unique abilities: the ability to listen, have a contagious personality to make clients thrive by including them in so many things like movement activities, fun for all and the ability to keep clients and staff safe... all in all it takes an extraordinary person to make a win-win situation happen..and she does. I've know her family for about 10 years and they all showed the highest respect for everyone they meet!!

everyone was incredibly friendly and gave in depth info during the tour. Definitely high up on my list for my parents knowing they will be well taken care of and can make friendships with the amazing staff!

I came to enjoy an activity with my family member, it was a great time! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. And the building is very spacious and cozy, making it easy to fit right in and enjoy the activities!

I visited a family member who lives here, the rooms are very spacious and up to date! Staff is an A+ always willing to help. Activities and food are amazing! The common areas are always cleaned and decorated nicely!

I was very impressed with the facilities, staff, food, and activities that Independent Village offers to its residents. It was so good to see that places like this exist, that have so many opportunities for seniors to interact and participate in. It has such a warm feeling of community while also providing the privacy of a very nice equipped apartment: Sarah did such a great job and was so welcoming and answers so many of the questions I had. I highly recommend this to others with aging parents.

This great place to live!! 5 on all. We have some fun times. Are very comfortable and well cared for. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.
