at Independence Village of Petoskey

To start off my son said. I want you to go see Independent Village for a tour. My remark was I don't want to stay there. My son said to give it a try gained room 4th floor with a deck and view. I have neem here at least 4 years and I have to admit, it was a good choice.

I have only been here since March. Everyone has answered my questions when asked. The residents have all been very friendly and treated me just fine. I have found it her a wonderful family! Management call me by name. You're all have been friendly to me. What they offer has been great.

Meals sometimes late, often warm up chefs [name removed], [name removed], [name removed]. Great soups, desserts would like low cholesterol food noted all cleaning ladies. Great Job. Laundry is excellent management responsive to requests.

I came to the village on 2000 stayed for 2 years, then my daughter and I moved to Susan Lake. For health reasons I decided to make a move. There was no question where I was going. The staff is fabulous, I received a first rate welcome.

I couldn't have choose a better place to live. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The food and dining room was very good when I first got here, but the dining experience has gone down. Recently due to a lack of help. Dining room management is wonderful is and hard workers! I have late seating and they keep running out of food.

My experience at this facility has been very good and I would recommend it to users that need a place like it.

Everyone I have had interactions with have been very helpful. Low pressure sales, felt like they were truly trying to help me help my Mom. I would absolutely recommend the community to others who are searching for a place.

Friendly atmosphere, very clean, good food, nice outside grounds, convenient location, huge schedule of events for all of the tenants. They also have a great shuttle service that is included in the monthly fee. Also, In-house Salon, Church, Dr. Office. Weekly laundry service and bi-weekly room cleaning included.

They were very friendly and helpful with the process and welcoming to my uncle into the community as well as flexible and helpful with moving things into the apartment.

Our first visit started with Heather, Pearl, and Sharon. They took the time and answered all of our questions. I appreciated their experience and honesty. This was a big decision.I have to say that all of the staff (cleaning, maintenance, RA's, and dining) are always so patient and kind, and I feel confident that my Dad (Carl) is receiving the best possible care. They are truly exceptional and nothing is ever too much trouble.The facility is always clean, bright, and welcoming. The building even smells good! The dining staff really took the time to find my Dad the perfect "table mates." :). There are so many fun activities to choose from. The communication is phenomenal.The food is exceptional. My Dad loves going down to the dining room for his meals. The buffets that they put on once a month are truly a creative tasty culinary experience.Independence Village feels like a warm and inviting home . . . not just a place to live. I feel like my Dad gave the best compliment when he says if he can’t be at his own home, this is the next best place. I am so grateful for the peace of mind that this facility provides. Independence Village is a true blessing for our family.

[name removed] spent over an hour with us touring the facility. She answered all of our questions and showed us that one only pays for the care he or she needs. [name removed] spoke to everyone on our journey and called each person by name--often asking about how their day was going. She made us feel as if we would get very caring and concerned help with anything we needed in the facility. After viewing many facilities, we rank it as our first choice.

We were very happy with our tour of Independence Village with Heather Nalbock. We took a video tour with her because at the moment we are in California. Heather was very thorough walking through the whole complex, showing us our choice for apartments and even showing us how long it would take for my mom to walk from her preferred apartment to the elevator. When I mentioned that my mom would love to see this same tour but that she didn't have FaceTime, she did the whole tour again and recorded it and sent it to her. Heather's warm personality and friendly manner helped us to decide with certainty that Indepence Village will be a wonderful place for our Mom in Northern Michigan.
