Caring staff, very attentive, I know my loved one is very well liked by the staff. Nurses on duty 24/7. Yes I would recommend for someone with middle and advanced Alzheimers only,

Visited Story Point in Urbandale, met with Brandon was impressed with the time that he took answering all of my questions and providing detailed information about all aspects of the facility and care that is provided to the residents. The facility is very clean, the environment was calm and peaceful, all of the staff that I met on my tour was very friendly and kind. If you are looking for memory care for a loved one, I would strongly encourage you to add this facility to your list.

It's one big family, everyone loves everyone. All of the staff cares! The receptionist, [name removed], is exceptional. She's so nice and helpful. We were so pleased with care my brother received, I would recommend Story Point any time.

The staff and activities are what make this place a great place. The staff are very friendly and caring. The cleanliness can be hit or miss, but I understand this can be difficult with so many patients at such an advanced stage of dementia and memory care issues. My mother in law is in decline but has maintained a pleasant attitude, so this has made our visits easier.

Very good experience so far. Everyone really seems to know my mom and her personality. Yes, we would absolutely recommend StoryPoint Urbandale to other families based on the experience so far.

The staff at Glen Oaks treats every resident with love and respect. Further, their staffing model calls for a much higher staff to resident ratio than most care centers, so the residents receive kind, individualized attention. They offer a range of activities for their residents; there is no such thing as keeping people in bed because there's nothing else to do. My mother was so happy there and I will be forever grateful to her caretakers.

I recently had a tour of the Glen Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. My tour guide was Brandon Comer, the Community Relations Director. I was very impressed by what I learned. The facility was clean, there are many daily activities for the residents and the staff were plentiful. When the time comes, it will be a perfect fit.

The staff here make my grandma feel right at home, huge shoutout to the activity department for always keeping them active!

I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the exceptional care my grandma received at Glen Oaks. From the moment she arrived, the staff welcomed her with open arms and treated her like family. The facility is immaculate, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it feel like a true home away from home. The nursing staff is incredibly attentive and compassionate. They went above and beyond to ensure my grandma's comfort and well-being. They took the time to get to know her personally, understanding her likes, dislikes, and daily routines. This personalized care made a significant difference in her quality of life. The activities and social programs offered are outstanding especially the activities director. My grandma always had something to look forward to, whether it was a group exercise class, a craft session, or simply chatting with friends in the beautiful common areas. The sense of community and camaraderie among the residents is heartwarming. Overall, Glen Oaks exceeded all our expectations. The peace of mind knowing my grandma is in such capable and loving hands is priceless. I wholeheartedly recommend this nursing home to anyone seeking the best possible care for their loved ones. Five stars all the way!

My sibling adores the caregivers, they pay a lot of attention to him. For activities, he tells me he has nothing to do. I know that's wrong. He just doesn't seem to want to participate. For value for cost, What can I say? Bottom line: he needs what you can provide and it's easy to see he is happy at Glen Oaks. He pays a lot and he gets a lot! He doesn't complain.

Awesome and compassionate staff. It's a difficult job to do day after day. Some staff are better than others. I hit the call button in my mother in law's room and no one came after 10 minutes because she is incontinent. I am concerned what the call button is for. It was evening, which is a busy time there. Hopefully an emergency would be addressed in a timely manner. The meals are nothing special, but I'd rather spend more on quality care. I still ranked Glen Oaks high despite the call button experience, because it is quite busy in the center at night with all the sun downing patients. I am hoping if there was an emergency, we would be notified.

Glen Oaks specializes in Alzheimer's Care and there is a definite difference between the care he is getting now which is Alzheimer's specific. If your loved one has Alzheimer's don't be fooled into just choosing a place called "Memory Care" because they are not capable of dealing with an Alzheimer's patient.
