I recently had a school project where I presented oral care education to the staff at this assisted living facility, and I had such a great experience. They were incredibly receptive from the start and immediately welcomed the opportunity to have me come in. The staff was very friendly, engaged, and genuinely interested in learning how to better care for their residents’ oral health. It was clear that they truly care about the people they serve and go above and beyond to support their overall well-being, including oral care. From what I observed, they do a wonderful job making sure their residents are well cared for in every aspect. I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with kindness and attention.

My husband and I toured Independence Village of Waukee to see about his mother possibly moving into their community. We were very impressed with their facility. Alivia, who took us on the tour, was very friendly and thorough about details of living there. It was obvious as we toured that Alivia is liked by residents and people there appeared content and happy. The rooms were spacious with adequate closet and storage space. Alivia described numerous activities that their residents can do and be involved in. The price to live there is more reasonable and affordable compared to other retirement facilities we have toured. We would definitely recommend it to others looking for a place for their loved ones!

Have not met one person at Independence Village who was not helpful, outgoing, truly invested in solving your problem. All members of staff know my name and I've only been here 5 weeks.

I recently visited with Brandon at the Waukee, IA location regarding a family member who is dealing with dementia. She lives several states away and up till now has been dependent on help from neighbors and friends. I was looking for advice on how best to arrange proper help for her.Brandon was more than willing to help answer my questions. He listened to me describe the situation and was glad to make phone calls on my behalf to some of the care agencies where my family member lives. Later than afternoon I received a call from one of those agencies who put me in contact with the right people who could help me.His assistance was exactly what I needed. In less than 2 days, thanks to Brandon taking the time to steer me in the right direction, I have arrived at what appears to be a workable solution in helping my family member receive the qualified assistance she needs. When I didn't know what to do or who to call, Brandon took over and introduced me to the right people!I can't thank Brandon enough for his understanding, professional guidance, time and willingness to help. I give him 10 stars out of 5!!!!! What a relief for me and my family to have met him!

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the amazing staff. The facility is very clean and well-organized, and the food prepared by the staff was delicious. During our tour for my loved one, everyone was kind, patient, and informative, which gave us peace of mind. It’s clear they truly care about the people they serve. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

Very clean, excellent staff activities are very nice paint there nails. live music, nice patio in the summer.

One if the best communities to be a part of! Some of the kindest people work here and they always have a smile while doing it! Fun activities and great food!

Made lots of new friends living here, and the staff truly feels like family! Food is good and plentiful!
