Testimonials About
Danbury Westerville

Our residents love calling Danbury home. Hear their stories, and let them tell you why they've fallen in love with our community.

I have lived here for 2 years as an independent resident. There is always room for growth - or 5 stars.

They treat me like family.

We only visited and toured Danbury Westerville because after doing so we were sold. Devon, our tour guide knew the answers to every question we had and answered questions we hadn’t even thought of before our tour. After our tour I texted Devon a couple questions and she always responded promptly with answers. The best advertising for Danbury Westerville were the smiles on literally every residents’ face. Every resident I saw appeared to be happy and that’s all I want for my mom. We also saw several maintenance workers working while we were there which is also nice to see.

I think everyone is friendly and helpful, especially [name removed] the nurse. The food isn't great. It was really talked up on my initial tour.

Extremely accommodating to each client. For example, my father is a retired Fire Chief. They offered a Veteran discount, but when the found this out they also created a First Responders discount with my father as the prototype. Our circumstances have also been unique in that we signed a lease, my father fell, and has had complications arise. Danbury has been so accommodating with us as we navigate thru all of this

It was much better than the place she was at. The available music classes art classes field trips the amenities more than just a place to stay. Even the nurses were of a higher caliper and it really feels like a home.

I would rate all categories 5. The care the staff gave and how helpful they were family. Yes, we would recommend Danbury Westerville-Parkside Village to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

My father was transferred by me (his daughter) to a memory unit at Danbury Westerville - Parkside after an unsuccessful stay at a different facility. He did experience relocation stress syndrome for about a month but did eventually "settle in" and became content there. I was always notified about any changes in medication or falls promptly. My only complaint was that there were about three times family members tried to reach the night nurse when my dad called us on the early morning hours and the call went directly to voice mail with no return call or it went to an advertising loop for Danbury facilities. On the plus side, there was always at least one music program each week which he loved.

Assistant Living (AL)" means exactly that. The Resident must be able to do some things for themselves. Mom was rated by 4 Communities as AL. But she was, and we thought that was clear, that some things she would be unable to do. Such as put her own clothing away, straighten up her room, put items in trash can, put items where they belong, etc. Everyone knew she didn't walk. Quality of Care is a main basis of these communities. She has since been moved to Memory Care. Therefore, we are hoping, and have been assured that as of today, her first day back from hospital in Memory Care, she will get the closes eyes on care that she needs.

While my mom's time at the Danbury was short, ai had nothing but a positive experience with the staff and the care they provided. My mom was battling aggressive cancer that limited mobility and cognitive skills. The staff at the Danbury was incredibly helpful and willing to do all they could to make her final weeks as peaceful as possible. Not only was the staff exceptional, but the facility itself is very nice. She had 1 of the suites with a living area and bedroom. Given her limited mobility she never got to experience all the bells & whistles, but from the numerous visits I can say the staff does a tremendous job with regular activities, quiet areas for rest and reflection, along with a nice outdoors area to relax and enjoy the weather.I am incredibly thankful to all associated with the Danbury and highly recommend anyone considering this type of arrangement for a loved one to reach out and experience the Danbury for themselves.

It's a lovely community and we were sad to leave. That was a bumpy start - the Activities Director was out so my aunt was unable to connect with people and become comfortable. And it took a while for anyone to welcome and introduce her to people and the experience. It's truly and independent living so if you need help and assistance it takes a little longer to arrive that we would have liked. There are many nice people working and living there and I felt that my aunt was in a safe and caring place. We are grateful:)I would encourage them to create a WELCOME WAGON committee that is filled with residents and staff to help new people become acclimated to the facility.

Overall, our family's experience has been good. The staff are all caring and kind. Residents meet as a community in the evenings like a traditional home setting. As with all care facilities, it is imperative to stay in communication with nursing staff to assure specific care is provided.
