Life in Greenville, Michigan
For decades — centuries, in fact — Greenville has offered its residents the charm, peace, and neighborly support that’s associated with small towns. Incorporated as a village in 1867 and a city in 1871, Greenville remains relatively small, as it currently has about 9,000 residents.
As you or your loved one potentially become a member of this nearly 160-year-old community, here are some examples of nearby attractions you can enjoy soon. Each one follows suit with the small-town appeal that Greenville has become known for.
- Flat River Historical Museum: In 1844, John Green became the first Caucasian settler in modern-day Greenville. By visiting this museum, you or your loved one will see exactly where he settled approximately 180 years ago!
- Frugthaven Farm: This Greenville-based farm fulfills many purposes. Aside from serving as a wedding and event venue, it also grows apples and pumpkins. Additionally, it’s home to the new, highly popular Applewood Kitchen + Bar.
- Kaleidoscope of Times: If you or your loved one collect antiques, you’ll need to visit this store at least once. You’ll likely find something that will pique your interest, leading you to come back again and again!
- The Fighting Falcon Military Museum: For anyone that’s interested in learning more about wars — and the people and equipment involved with them — this museum is a must-see. From time to time, local men and women, who served the U.S. in the military, will speak about their experiences, too.
Every now and then, you or your loved one may want to visit a larger city as well. Whenever that time comes, Grand Rapids is only half an hour away.
Maybe you or your loved one will want to see Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids Public Museum, or John Ball Zoo? Regardless of your preferences, the options are practically endless in “River City!”
Living Options for You or Your Loved One
While seeking out a senior living community for you or your loved one, a certain feature will likely stand out above any other: the type of living option that’s available for each resident.
Hathaway Hills provides two living options: assisted living or memory care. Each option was designed with every resident in mind, thereby guaranteeing their particular needs and desires are met.
Assisted Living: The assisted living option at Hathaway Hills will help you or your loved one make the most of every single day. Perhaps you or your loved one is looking for assistance with housekeeping or cooking. Our trained professionals will ensure you’re receiving exactly what you need, from housekeeping to three home-cooked meals every day.
Maybe you or your loved one has care needs that can’t be managed at home. Our licensed professionals will treat you like family and confirm that your needs are consistently met. Or perhaps you or your loved one is seeking more socialization? Our community will offer just that — and then some!
Memory Care: As you or your loved one know, there are countless types of memory impairments. But there is one commonality. Each individual afflicted with an impairment is no different than anyone else. They desire love, support, and connection.
To provide that care we all desire, Hathaway Hills offers residents the best of the best. Highly trained employees that specialize in memory impairment. Licensed support, concerning every aspect of life. Specially designed programs, catered to your or your loved one’s distinct needs. Whatever you need, you’ll find it here — time after time.
In addition to these offerings, Hathaway Hills has plenty of amenities, including a barbershop, beauty salon, business center, and library. Therefore, you or your loved one will have opportunities to explore every day, ensuring your next chapter is exciting, fun, and full of socialization!

An Exciting and Fun Chapter of Life
Through each amenity we provide, we strive to fulfill one key goal at Hathaway Hills. Simply put, we want each of our residents to share the joys of life together. This goal remains unchanged, with regard to our activities, too.
Whether our activities are hosted within or outside of our community, they’ll bring people together. They’ll ensure our community’s family bond remains intact. And they’ll help our residents enjoy their latest chapter to the fullest, whether they’re adopting cows or carving pumpkins.
- Adopt a Cow: In October 2025, Hathaway Hills revealed our host farm for the annual Discover Dairy “Adopt a Cow” program. To celebrate, our residents relished Cow Tail candies and jars of cold milk.
- Artists Among Us: Our community is known for its artistic talent, as showcased during our “Artists Among Us” art display. Several residents displayed their artwork, while also sharing stories about their inspirations for each one.
- Celebrating Fall: Did you know Hathaway Hills has its own pumpkin patch? While treasuring their time in the pumpkin patch, residents were treated to cider and apple cider donuts — two autumn staples!
- Decorating Pumpkins: Another fall tradition? Well, pumpkin decorating, of course! Unsurprisingly, our residents always create imaginative pumpkins, as proven once again during our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
- Pizza, Pizza, Pizza: After a short bus trip, some of our residents enjoyed a buffet at Flo’s Pizzeria Ristorante and Sports Bar. Everyone relished the fantastic food and conversations!
- Purple Parade Walk & Wheel: To support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, some of our residents participated in the Purple Parade Walk & Wheel. Each participant directly influenced the fight — the fight to ultimately discover a cure for Alzheimer’s.
