- Cheetah the Cat: Without question, some of our residents absolutely love cats. Our residents’ faces lit up as soon as they saw Cheetah the cat one day — they couldn’t help but provide him infinite attention!
- Chicago Dogs…in Indiana?: Sometimes there’s nothing quite like simplicity: a Chicago dog and a root beer at Chesterton’s The Port Drive-In. Additionally, some residents enjoyed eating Halloween-themed donuts in our community.
- Exercising with Frisbees: What can you do with some baskets and frisbees? Play frisbee golf, of course! Our residents absolutely loved this engaging activity.
- Magazine War: Residents have also had a Magazine War. Yes, you read that correctly. A Magazine War! During the “war,” residents were challenged to find objects in magazines; once they did, they hit a buzzer to see who would win each time.
- Painting in the Courtyard: Valparaiso Senior Village has a gorgeous courtyard, which residents thoroughly relished in early October 2025. Some residents chose to walk around, while others painted. Simply put, it was an absolutely gorgeous fall day full of friendship.
- Thrifting the Day Away: A few of our residents have also previously spent a day at the AbleLight Thrift Shop. While doing so, they loved looking for — and finding — little treasures!
