Within Our Community
- Galentine’s Day Celebration: On National “Wear Red Day,” for women’s heart healthy month, we decided to bounce off of that with our own version of a Galentine’s celebration. Thank you to our friends at Vinland Reserve Winery — Fort Wayne for hosting a tasty wine and luncheon pairing!
- Glow Party Concert: We ramped up our weekly concert with a glow party complete with glow sticks and juicy Jell-O shots! It really got our residents raving to the “oldie but a goodie” dance tunes!
- Summer Concert Series: At our summer concert series, residents danced and enjoyed live music from the Alicia Pyles Band during this seasonal favorite. This concert series featured great food, amazing company, and music with “jazzy vibes.”
Within the Local Community
- Cook’s Orchard: On our visit to Cook’s Orchard, our resident, Mary Ann, told stories of her fond experience having an apple tree in her yard and how they loved sharing apples with their neighbors. Make sure visiting Cook’s Orchard is on your fall bucket list!
- Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory: Residents loved exploring the vibrant butterfly exhibit. The trip is an annual highlight and one of our residents’ favorite outings on our vibrant life enrichment calendar.
- Hilger Family Farm: We took a visit to Hilger Family Farm during National Strawberry Month! Thankfully, we were blessed with some beautiful weather, and residents were able to enjoy picking fresh berries and creating delicious recipes.
- Making Friends at Oak View Elementary: The Oak View Elementary student council visited us earlier in the year to lead bingo for our residents. We were all anxious to find a way to see the students again, so with the help of some of the teachers, we were able to receive a special invitation to watch their end of school year play!
